Education & Background
Chris Koplos, O.D., is a multifaceted optometrist and University Vision Centre’s only low vision and vision rehabilitation specialist. She earned her undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
An East Texas native, Dr. Koplos quickly became an excellent caregiver and low vision specialist at University Vision Centre. She is an expert at identifying patients’ needs and working with them for vision plans that maximize their quality of life, especially patients with extremely low vision or other forms of severe vision loss.

Dr. Koplos finds it rewarding to donate her time to give back and help the community, particularly those with severe vision loss who may struggle to get or find success with general eye care. When she’s not helping patients see better, she’s spending her time with her three children, or taking excellent care of her horses.
