Are Contacts Right for Me?
Precise and Personalized Contact Lenses
Our Large Selection of Lenses
Rigid gas-permeable lenses (RGP) allow oxygen to pass through the eye, with patients finding them more breathable than daily disposable soft lenses. These lenses require a bit more maintenance, but are a great, durable option for those with dry eyes and other conditions that affect the front of the eye. If you’re looking for lenses that last up to a month with diligent care, RGP lenses are a wonderful choice!
Scleral lenses are larger and have a special shape that arcs over the thin membrane on the front of your eye, known as the cornea, and instead hugging the white part of your eye, or sclera. Because of their structure, these lenses are great for those with dry eye, keratoconus, or corneal injuries and sensitivities that do not allow contacts to sit directly on the front of the eye.
Ortho-K is an innovative contact lens technology designed to slow the progression of myopia in children. Worn overnight, they gently reshape the cornea to correct its length, resulting in better vision in the morning, and limiting the need for eyewear in some patients. The lifestyle flexibility afforded by Ortho-K is just one of the reasons we include these lenses in our myopia management programs for your little one!
If you regularly perform high intensity exercise or participate in sports, hybrid lenses are a wonderful option to correct your vision. Their unique construction combines an RGP center with a gel-like outer portion, providing high levels of visual clarity with all the comfortable benefits of soft lenses. Other patients who might be best served by hybrids are those with astigmatism, or those who find traditional RGP lenses uncomfortable or harder to wear.
Though not contact lenses in the traditional sense, amniotic membranes perform similar functions as specialty lenses for patients with cornea conditions or ocular injuries, but use a special design better suited to those who need advanced healing. Our practice is unique in that we carry amniotic membranes like the PROKERA® corneal bandage. These innovative tools can reduce inflammation caused by ocular surface disease and other issues to rejuvenate your eyes without invasive procedures.
